Hi, I'm 16 years old and my dad passed away on wednesday (today is friday). My brother has to go back to his home in Leicester soon to be with his daughter who is almost 3 weeks old, so it will just be me and my mum here in London. I am in no position to be sitting any exams, which start in about 4 weeks, partly because I am in no position to revise, I can't leave my mum on her own and I can't sit on my own in an exam hall after the trauma of finding my dad on my own. I was wondering how this would work itself out with my AS' as I cannot get through to my school. Can I receive my predicted grades?

I'm so sorry to hear that i think for them to use predicted grades you have to have sat half of the AS already. I know it's the last thing on your mind right now but phone your schools exams officer and see what they can do.

My only brother, 19, whom I was extremely close to died in a tragic accident a few weeks ago. I'm 16 too but I'll be sitting my GCSEs in a few weeks time.
I'm finding it very hard also. Not sure why I'm replying to this other than to let you know you're not alone perhaps..?
I don't know about the predicted grades thing, as I think I'm just sitting mine straight out. There's a possibility for 'extreme circumstances' type thing, but I really don't know.
Best of luck to you, I'm here if you want to talk about anything, and I hope you're doing okay.
