What has happened to the civil service? This time last year there were lots of jobs being advertised on the civil service websites. Now there are very few good jobs being advertised.

Impact of the spending review in November. Many departments have cuts in budget, and with it cuts in headcount.

A lot of roles will be advertised internally to existing civil servants, but often will require additional sign off (and therefore scrutiny) to be advertised externally.
