Anyone got any contacts/suggestions for London or close to London Civil/Structural Engineering Work Experience?

Thanks

Ollie

Most, if not all of the larger structural and civil engineering companies have head offices in London. You really have a huge selection to approach through the usual routes.

I'm currently on a structural engineering summer placement in Holborn with WSP Cantor Seinuk. They are a specialist in tall structures- they are the company that are doing the shard of glass ( will be the tallest building in Europe) and also the Freedom Towers ( the replacment for the World Trade Centers). Their website: http://www.wspgroup.com/en/Services/Services-Container/Structural_design/

How old are you. If you have not reached uni yet, then do not expect to get any. You will not have enough experience to do even the most basic things and they will not have enough time to train you (unless you are doing a YinI).

Any experience you do get, grab with both hands

was that question for me, or the poster?

Both really! Its a general question and response I put on every thread asking for Civil work experience

Would work experience at an architecture firm (that speciliases in interior design - shops and offices mainly, I believe) look good on my UCAS form?

Would it give me a good insight into a career in civil engineering?
