I cant eat anymore..

So this is my problem..firstly I must say im a girl that loves her food plain and simple..I could eat a huge meal and and still manage pudding afterwards and think its silly when people refuse to enjoy a meal for worrying about calories..anyway over the past week my appetite has drastically changed..

Im just never hungry..but im not physcially sick at all and i dont understand it. All i have managed to eat since 5pm yesterday (24 hours) without wanting to throw up is a 2 pieces of toast and even after that i felt soo full. Its not like im purposely trying not to eat I just cant force it down me, my body doesnt want it. I was at a friends on friday night and we ordered a dominos..i should have been so hungry since it was 10pm and i had been shoppin all day and hadnt anything except a piece of toast before i left at 9am. I ate one slice and i was soo full i just couldnt eat anymore or I would have thrown up...and i love pizza :frown:

urghh whats wrong with me, its not like its only been a day or 2, in the past week i think ive eaten less than what id normal eat in a whole day..but i have nothing else wrong with me its just my appetite. I thought it would be stupi going to the dr and telling him ive lost my appetite so i wonered if anyone else has went through the same and what could be causing it. Thanks in advance

Of course it's not stupid to go to the doctor, you need food to live. Go asap.
Any loss of appetite is worth investigating. Sometimes we just go through patches of not being hungry. When its hot, my appetite goes completely. Can you think of anything that might be causing it?

some times because you have gone one day without food your body just goes past hungry which might be the case but much better to go to the doctor , they deal with things like this all the time

It has been reeeeeally hot and muggy these past couple of days, and whenever the weather is like that, I just don't feel hungry. It does feel worrying when you realise how little you have been eating, but if your body doesn't want to eat, just have what you can manage.
Although I would advise you to go to the doctor if it still continues for the next few days.
hmmm the only thing that comes to mind is stress, I just took my driving test there on wednesday (and passed by the way  ) and my dad had be out for an hour everday for the few days coming up to the test and he had me soooo stressed out (hes a bit of an ass to say the least)..if i did the even the smallest thing wrong or not the way he wanted it done he would start screaming for a bout 20mins and it put so much pressure on me to pass so thats the only thing i can think of thats happened in the past week. oh and i just started a new relationship but im not sure thats nothing to do with it.

Thanks so far

this exact thing happened to me around christmas. i just never felt like eating. my mum would cook me a meal, and i would eat one mouthful then be full. i didnt feel ill at all, and i never felt hungry. but after a month everything was back to normal. i shouldnt worry, but if it goes on for a long time then prehaps go see your gp.
yeh thanks for the advice. had dinner there managed to force have of it done me but i feel so sick now. hopefully itll get better its self.

I had the exact same thing last year, i'd eat one plain slice of toast during the whole day and then have to force down dinner, of which i'd only eat half. To this day i'm still not sure what caused it. A trip to the doctors might be beneficial.
It was annoying at christmas this year - I just didnt want to eat a lot even though there was all this nice food about lol
I went through a similar thing a couple of years ago and i'm the same with food i could usually eat loads, it got to the point where my mother was practically force-feeding me to get me to eat. With me it was just a phase i came out the other end and my appetite was normal again. It maybe just a phase your going through but if it carries on for more than a few weeks or its really worrying you go to the doctor.

Mine was at the beginning of a new relationship, i would be off every evening to meet up with him (now my ex-boyfriend) and my mum would have to say 'you are not going anywhere until you've eaten at least half of this'
if you're feel anxious about something, such as exams looming, I personally never eat much...especially the day before. Perhaps that is just me! Are you worried about something at all?

About a week ago, I had a "similar problem".

I ate salad at then I threw up and after tht, my body didn't want any food because whatever I ate, I would feel like throwing up (even if it was just a glass of juice!).

I am okay now but that was pretty random =/

I think it's just a pretty random thing!!
yeh its pretty crappy although i havent actually been physically sick just always feel terrible after eating anything..seems like lots of people have had similar probs. In answer to nickos question I just done my driving test and im in the middle or exams so that could be causing it. hopefully ill be fine soon
I had this problem a few weeks ago. I mentioned it to my friend and she said "Maybe you're finally full from all the food you've eaten!"

Seriously though, my appetite came back in a couple of days and I don't know why it went. I think wait a couple of days, see if you feel better and if not go and visit your doctor.

This will probably last from anywhere between 2 days to 2 weeks, it’s caused by an imbalance in your body’s regulatory chemicals and hormones,
so the chemicals that tell your brain your hungry/full stop functioning properly.

It can be triggered from things like anxiety or stress which produce their own chemicals that can cause these imbalances.

This is why those who are mourning a loved one, tend to experience a loss of appetite.
