It could be something to do with your lymph nodes. Go to the doctor just in case.

Thats what I thought. I'll mention it to the doctor. Is it anything to worry about?

I did have some kind of chest infection/problem (still kind of have it) and stupidly stopped taking the antibiotics halfway through the course, could that be the reason?

The fact that it's hard is slightly worrying. If it were simply a soft fatty lump - it would probably be a lypoma. Where abouts is it? Is it on the lymph glands? Definitely get it checked out - lumps, although much of the time benign must always be checked out..

I'm not sure where the lymph nodes are exactly. It's on the side of my neck more towards the back. Feels quite hard, but not as hard as I thought actually. It might be fatty, and I mistook it for one of those under the skin spots at first, and it moves when I touch it. My boyfriend laughed at me when I mentioned it as I'm normally a hypochondriac but I'll tell the dr about it. It's just a bit embarrassing cos I always go in with about 10 different problems.

I think the main clusters of lymph nodes are on the neck, groin and under the arms. They can swell due to infection but see the dr just in case its something else. You'd want it to be diagnosed early.

Agh I'm getting really worried now. I'm going to America for the summer on the 18th so it's the last thing I need. I already have an entire list of things to see the Dr about. :s-smilie:

i have the same thing on my neck actually. It's quite small and exactly like how you described, it never bothered me, now i'm quite concerned.

I've had a little lump on the side of my neck for as long as I can remember. Not visible - but you can feel it and it's pretty much as you describe (soft and moves about a bit). Like I said, always been there as far as I can remember, and I'm 22 so... I'd assume if it was anything to worry about it would have killed me by now.

So it's probably nothing. Get it checked if you're worried, though.

I've noticed it for the last week or so. I have a small lump thing on the side of my neck that sort of moves when I touch it. It isn't sore or swollen, it feels like a hard lump under the skin and I'm paranoid now. What might it be?

JuS get it checked by ur gp!! It may jus be a minor thing

Its a lymph node that has come up because you have had (and cleared) an infection. Nothing more.
if it is still there in 4-6 weeks THEN go see your doctor.

I've had one of those on the point of my jaw for a few years. You can't see it but you can feel it - it moves about and is about the same size and shape as a baked bean. I had it checked out by ultrasound and was told that there was nothing to be worried about. I had recently had glandular fever so it might have been something to do with that. Get it checked out.

OK, I'm going to the dr tomorrow anyway so I'll mention it just in case. I won't be back for 4 months so anything I don't get checked now will have to wait until then.

I've actually got quite a large lump under my skin on my shoulder and I've seen the doctor about it only for him to tell me its fat under my skin but its grown since then and I'm getting slightly worried about it now :frown:. I can actually move it about...I know I should make another appointment but I just don't feel my doctor takes me seriously at all :frown: - No sooner than I'm in there, he's already chasing me out...

Good luck OP
