1. The finite region R is bounded by the curve y = cos^2 x, where x is measured in radians, the positive coordinate axes and the line x = π/ 3 .
(b) Use the trapezium rule with three equally-spaced ordinates to estimate the area of R, giving your answer to 3 significant figures. (5)

I thought you would do π/ 3 divided by 3 to give you a height of π/9 (when you do b-a/n) however, the table of values of on the answers give :- 0, π/6 , π/9...
how did they get π/6??????

how did they get π/6??????
3 ordinates means 2 intervals. Sketch the graph and you'll see.

Hence it's b-a/2.
