This website is normally quite good, but has limited scope. I don't know what its Italian resources are like.

Fella, exactly same boat as you, took Spanish and France at GCSE last year, now thinking about doing one in Italian summer 2008 before i apply for languages at uni... and also struggling to find resources..
Awesome language though, and i find the Spanish helps a lot.

ive done AQA french, spanish and german
now im doing edxecel italian
their equal difficulty. I dont know about ocr
so you have a year before you take it?

Weve used the textbook rapid@mente this year and its the best (only good) text book for languages ive ever used- might be worth buying
its got all the grammar you need for GCSE explained really well (not over simplified) and all the vocab (well a lot more) than you need, verging on AS in vocab/grammar.
I would just use that or something similar for your grounding and maybe trashy magazines online to enrich your knowledge of grammar/vocab/idioms
learn a list of adverbs, essay connectives (esp moreover, however, although) and time phrases for the oral and writing to start you off as well

the italian edexcel exam is, in my opinion, much easier than any aqa exam. i think edexcel languages are generally easier than aqa ones.. and the language teachers in my school agree. my teacher was always telling us to watch italian tv on sites like www.rai.it

p.s. i agree, amici ftw!
