My poor mum. Years ago she invited my best mate round for tea and made a stew. The pearl barley had been in the cupboard for a few months and had been infested by tiny bugs. She didnt know. When she served it up on our plates me and my mate pointed out that there were hundreds of bugs in this and refused to eat it. she was so embarrased and said they were not bugs and they were meant to be there. In the end she gave in and went to the chippy lol
Looking back I feel horrible about this, I think my mum was so embarrased and a bit hurt
