I'm writing an essay on the presentation of women in Wuthering Heights, and I'm making the point that 'women are presented as stubborn'.

I really need an example of another female literary (NOT from Wuthering Heights) who can be said to be stubborn. I was thinking of Elizabeth Bennet from Pride and Prejudice, but I can't find a quote for her

Please give a quote if you can! This essay is for tomorrow whoops...

"There is a stubbornness about me that never can bear to be frightened at the will of others. My courage always rises at every attempt to intimidate me"

Jane Eyre is a good one to use as well because it is also a gothic text.
