    For a while now I've been having what seems to me to be symptoms of anxiety but, I'm not 100% sure... I've had the following symptoms:
    -lack of sleep
    -crying for no reason
    -worrying/thinking the worst
    -Heart beating fast
    -feeling sick
    -feeling shaky
    -going quieter than usual
    -lump in my throat
    -avoiding some social situations and phone calls.

    I was wondering if this sounds like anxiety to anybody who does suffer with it or knows more about it, and if so, how do I go about seeing someone about it?

    Sorry you feel like this; it's worth noting that many of those things you list here are what therapists would ask of you and many questionnaires they'll give you have these options. The first step you need to take is probably searching for an underlying problem -- has anything happened recently that might make you feel like these things?

    You could find a therapist directly through the NHS however be aware that the times to eventually get an appointment potentially could take a year. If you have money, then the best thing to do would be to look around privately through the BPS.
