So I'm ok with techniques on how to revise but I just don't know where to start basically I'm studying psychology and I will have to answer 2 questions in an essay style (this bit I'm ok with)

But we obviously aren't shown the questions that will be presented on the day so they have given us a list of 6 topics (only 5 of the topics will come up and then I can choose which 2 to pick) So with this knowledge I'm going to study 3 different topics in case I study for one that doesn't show up as an option on the day.

So within these the first topic I've chosen to revise for there are literally 14 different areas of this topic to study for, this is difficult enough because you don't know which the question will relate to but also I don't understand how I'm supposed to go about referencing these topics? Do I have to find references to evaluate each topic individually and remember this off by heart? that's like 28 references and concepts I'd have to remember?

I don't know if I'm being really dumb, I have no idea what I'm doing tbh, please share your tips or method of how to revise for essay based exams, thank you.

There was actually a thread and an article summing up the responses recently: http://www.thestudentroom.co.uk/show...7#post63450707
