    Hi all,

I'm planning on applying to Cambridge for 2017 entry (i.e. sending UCAS off this October) to study French and Arabic ab initio. I'm currently taking A levels in: (predicted all As)
    French
    Maths
    Philosophy
Drama & Theatre Studies (will probably drop for A2 and do an EPQ).

I have no knowledge of Arabic (at the moment!!! ) but am really interested in studying it because I'd quite like to pursue a career in the army / MI6.

My question is if anyone knows any sort of things that I could be doing outside of school classes (ie supercurricular things) other than reading books and starting to learn at the arabic script? I really need to start doing to the sort of thing that will show my passion for languages and get me noticed!!

    Thanks in advance

MML student here! Some of the things I did was general reading (what I was interested in/could actually get hold of bc my school was horrendous in terms of languages resources), watching films, my dad managed to get me Le Monde in newspaper form once per week (ask a newsagent, they might be able to sort it for you), and I helped in lower school language classes in my frees. In my PS I talked about things in the recent news that had interested me and even put in about following french news accounts on twitter.

My PS is on here - http://www.thestudentroom.co.uk/wiki...initio_Spanish

Let me know any questions you have! Also check out twitter #CambTweet/ @cambtweetmml - see what students get up to!
