Last week, a powerful bomb was thrown into a sikh temple in Essen,Germany. Luckily the bomb did not make it through the door (inside there were approx 100-200 people attending a wedding) and landed outside next to the flagpole but it was so power all the windows of surrounding flats were smashed aswell. 3 people were injured.
Today in the German media it has been recealed that supporters/members of ISIS committed this, I was surprised since I thought it was a hate crime.
Opinions?

Surprised tbh. I agree with you, I thought it would have been a hate crime rather than an ISIS sponsored attack.
Thankfully no-one was killed.

Same!

I also find it surprising, definitely would have thought it to be a hate crime.

They began by targeting Jews, then ordinary Westerners, now other religious groups. Everyone is their enemy.

Its not just the west that they hate. There is rampant militant Islamism in sub-Saharan Africa too, but nobody pays attention to that. There is also growing militant Islamism in some East Asian countries, e.g. Indonesia.
Yes it is becoming very strong in some East Asian countries.

so the indian government attacked and "heavily damaged" a sikh temple, a former PM was then killed by her Sikh bodyguards, and then over 3000 sikhs were killed in india in the 1984 Sikh Massacre?

As a SIkh, most of the extremism in our religion was at its height during the 1980s. As someone has shown, it stemmed mostly from this movement: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Khalistan_movement

Essentially, that the Sikh community should have it's own nation (Based in Punjab). So Sikhs often clashed with the Hindu led Government of India during that time. Already linked was this: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Air_India_Flight_182 Prior to 9/11, the biggest terrorist incident involving aircraft by death count.

Also Indira Gandhi's assassination (In response to Operation Bluestar). If you're interested, this was probably the most prominent terrorist group linked at the time to Sikhism: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Babbar_Khalsa

I see, thank you.

FWIW, I agree with Lee Kuan Yew that India is not really a real country, merely “32 separate nations that happen to be arrayed along a British rail line”.

Its a far right group framing Muslims. How can people still fall for it?? How easy it is for them to frame Muslims, all they need to do is dress up in religious clothing, and 'accidentally' be spotted by CCTV

Would you call the British Government or the American Government a "Christian led government"?
If not, why is the Indian Govt. called a "Hindu led government"?

Fyi, the Home Minister during the lead up to 1984 was Zail Singh - a Sikh

Good she was killed she deserved it.
That people on a plane was a one time incident and was against the teachings of sikhism.
