A shop has a large number of light bulbs in stock.
Each light bulb has either a bayonet fitting or a screw fitting.
For each type of fitting there are bulbs that consume different amounts of power.

The manager of the shop decides to test a sample of 5% of the bulbs in stock

*(a) explain how the manager could take a stratified sample of the bulbs for testing. (3 marks)

(b) Do you think taking a stratified sample is appropriate in this situation?
