Hey, i'm planning on applying for Law for 2017, and would like to gain some experience within the industry, just so i could get more to talk about on my personal statement.

Does anyone know of how i can go abouts trying to get some work experience? I reside in Sheffield, if that helps

You can try and get some work shadowing by writing to appropriate places, but there will be limited opportunity as they are businesses and dont have much time to look after school kids. You might find more luk helping out at a charity like CAB.

Dont get hung up on experience for personal statements, its an angle, but you are principally going there to study law and not practice it. bening well read and understanding why you want to study will be important.

Really isn't required for a personal statement, and if included should only take up a couple of lines (talking about the study of law, not the practice of law). You can try emailing a few local firms, which is what I did, and they tend to be more open to unofficial work experience than larger city firms.
