I am doing this past paper question (10 marks)

    (h) The psychologist noticed that female and male participants seemed to have respondedrather differently to the treatment. She decided to test the following hypothesis:
Female patients with an eating disorder will show greater improvement intheir symptoms after treatment with the new therapy than male patients.

She used a new set of participants and, this time, used self-report questionnaires insteadof interviews with a therapist.Imagine that you are the psychologist and are writing up the report of the study.

Write anappropriate methods section which includes reasonable detail of design, participants, materials and procedure. Make sure that there is enough detail to allow anotherresearcher to carry out this study in the future.

I'm slightly confused; what would be the independent variable in this study? Is it the gender of the ppts or the treatment? If it is treatment, does that mean that there will be four different groups? (i.e. female treatment / female non-treatment / male treatment / male non-treatment)

Please help! The mark scheme doesn't say anything
Do you agree with the PM's proposal to cut tuition fees for some courses?
