AQA A2 Physics Unit 4 Question- Help!!

Hi, please can someone help me understand question 1 a) i) and ii) from the AQA A June 04 paper (unit 4B)

http://www.aqa.org.uk/qual/gceasa/qp-ms/AQA-PA04-W-QP-JUN04.PDF

(see diagram)

Q. Figure 1 shows a section of a diffraction grating. Monochromatic light of wavelength λ is incident
normally on its surface. Light waves diffracted through angle θ form the second order image after
passing through a converging lens (not shown). A, B and C are adjacent slits on the grating.
Figure 1
(a) (i) State the phase difference between the waves at A and D.

(ii) State the path length between C and E in terms of λ.

I feel really dumb not understanding it because it is the first question on the paper!! Please can you help explain how to get the right answers, i don't know the method so just looking at the markscheme wasn't that helpful!
THANK YOU!!!!!
