I'm looking into doing an English language IGCSE from home, distance learning. Is there any speaking speaking element to the course/exam?

Does it differ with different exam boards, Aqa, Edexcel etc?

I looked at one distance learning organisation website and they say the Edexcel English language IGCSE consists of "one there-hour examination paper" (https://www.icslearn.co.uk/courses/g...lish-language/) but elsewhere I've seen comments about a speaking element to IGCSE English language Edexcel. Help!

I do edexcel IGCSE english but at school and we've had marks for speaking assessments which she said "are requirements". But I'm not sure how they would assess you since one part of it was group presentations.

If I did iGCSE English language, I'd probably do it via the National Extension College and it's an Edexcel course, and it's "specification 4EA0" - would this specification have any speaking element to the course or exam?

There are two routes for this IGCSE. If you go down route one, do you not need to do a speaking element? https://qualifications.pearson.com/c...-2-for-web.pdf

It differs by specification and some have the choice. Read each specification to see what's required.

If you're going to be doing it for next year, no they've scrapped it. Class of 2016 were the last lot to do it, I'm assuming you're talking about taking it next year because I'm sure the iGCSE English Language speaking and listening cut off has passed now
