I'll be starting my MSci in Petroleum Geology at Imperial in October, and am hoping to either get a Premium en-suite room (£272 p/w) at Eastside or Southside

    1) Are these type of rooms in high demand?
    2) I have read on multiple threads, and from other locations, that these halls completely lack atmosphere? Is there any truth regarding this?

What classifies as "premium"? I'll be going for an en-suite room, and I hear that they're typically the most popular, and I would believe that because I doubt anybody REALLY wants to share a bathroom/shower... I know I don't.

I'd say they're pretty high demand, but don't forget that a lot of people can't afford that type of room, so there will most likely still be spaces. As long as you apply as soon as you can, you should be fine.

I'm also worried about the lack of atmosphere. I'm going to be studying at Southampton Solent, and hoping to stay in Hamwic Halls, but I've heard very mixed reviews, so hoping for the best.

Agreed, along with the fact that I'd appreciate a larger bed space and room, I really am against the idea of sharing bathroom facilities.

I think the Premium en-suite rooms at Imperial have a double bed, extra space etc.

People come from all over the world to go to Imperial, I would have thought that for many international students, especially from the likes of the US, Germany, China etc will be able to afford such rooms, so I thought these would still be the rooms with most demand, but I just wanted to check..
