I'm still not entirely certain on what I want to do.
I have always been passionate about criminology, it interests me so much and I feel like i would fit right in studying it. However, from family experience, I know that just because you love something doesn't mean that degree will get you anywhere.

The other I'm thinking about is mental health nursing. As this is on the NHS, i would most likely get extra funding and almost guaranteed a job afterwards. (Where as most people with criminology degrees just go on to do something that has nothing to do with their degree)

I'm only just going into college this year but I do like to look forward and plan my future. It seems to be a case of doing what I love or doing what will get me a stable job.

If anyone has/is going through a similar situation please share advice!

That is one way of looking at it. The other is one of risk. There is a higher risk that you won't end up as a criminologist than as a mental health nurse. So what can you do to mitigate some of that risk. After all, some criminology degree graduates do end up in criminology. Can you get some work experience or talk to someone in the field for example? And if you do go into something unrelated, is that such a bad thing? Lastly, a plan B might be to do criminology, and if nothing comes of it, move straight through to nursing training? There are lots of options I am sure.
