Hi, I'm an international student, and would have the opportunity to go to either the University of Portsmouth or the University of Essex for Accounting and Finance. I'm torn between the two! I know that Portsmouth is an ex-polytechnic but it has a higher number of exemptions from professional examinations (the two go hand-in-hand, I suppose). Any thoughts?

The fact that Portsmouth was once a Poly is now totally irrelevant. It is a highly rated University with a solid reputation in all subjects it offers.

You need to look closely at each course and very closely at any 'professional accreditation' each claims (and the usefulness of such accreditation if as an international student you will not be able to work in the UK).

    Hello,

I currently study Psychology at the University of Essex and really enjoy it. If you have any questions about the University in general feel free to ask!

    Natalie.
