Which is more beneficial: Computer Science or Computer Games Programming?

I have recently applied for a Computer Games Programming course, however I'm having doubts as I feel a computer science course would have the same value for getting into computer games programming while being able to allow me more freedom in moving to different areas of IT if I desire. Is the computer games programming course more beneficial for getting in games programming, or would I be better of going to computer science?

for reference I am applying to De Montfort University.
I would say that Games programming is much more advance and difficult but would be much more fun. Computer science which is what i do is very broad and not really defined as making games. You most make websites and practical codes.
Compsci would give you a more well rounded education and you can always specialise in games programming in third year so I would've gone with compsci tbh
