    I can't remember. It probably wouldn't have been a momentous occasion, but it certainly doesn't happen often. They're such an inconvenient note.

    cash machine's don't carry them you'll only get them in branch

    as for my last use of a £50 was last week buying a sovereign from a pawn store

    Never spent one, sometimes foreign visitors use them to pay at work but that's the only time I've handled one. They're a pain because they're physically so big.
