Have you ever missed/been late for an exam?

I finished all my A2 exams yesterday, but I had a dream last night that they'd just started and I had my first one (Chemistry resit) and I woke up and went to it and everything, only to find out it was on the day before, and that I'd missed it! It was so scary.. I woke up and it took me a while to realise that I'd already done the stupid exams!
And yesterday, when I had my final exam, then I went to the train station to get on the 8.19 train for my morning exam, only to find it'd been delayed till 8.42, which would get me to college at 8.57, and I'd be guaranteed to be about 10 minutes late to the exam. So the only thing I could do was get a taxi, which cost me £13! Oh well, it got me there with 15 minutes till the exam started so it was worth it  I kept thinking though, what if there were no taxis at the train station??? I'd've been late for the exam!

So has anybody else narrowly missed being late/been late/completly missed an exam?

No iv never missed an exam but i keep on having dreams that I cannot do half of my paper. I had one last night where I was doing my History Paper and there was questions on a topic we hadnt even looked at and so i panicked. But its a huge relief when you wake up in the morning and you realise you have done your exams without those stupid problems.

I remember being early for one of my GCSE exams. It was in the afternoon and I came in in the morning. I used to live quite far away from my school so I had to just sit around for hours at school, waiting for it to start

Just noticed that you do Politics, History and Sociology and im doing History and Politics (and possible Sociology) so are they any good (at AS and A2)?
I have had dreams about missing them.. and about getting to the exam and being totally unable to find the relevant section of the paper after 20 minutes of looking through the exam!!!

Thank god they are over now

I've been late for some, I was half an hour late for my spanish last year and quarter of an hour for my biology this year. I know, it's terrible. I just don't get no sleep the night before though. My school was really good about it, they let me in and even gave me extra time for what i'd missed. Not that it matters because I've failed anyway.

I've enjoyed politics A2 much more than the AS, i'm just about to finish edexcel route A which has got UK political issues, EU and policy making in it. I've found it to be a good course although one warning, it is harder than the AS as the questions are much less predictable and there is simply more to know. I did History A2 OCR, its is okay although I found the unit 6 (we did US civil rights) pretty hard going there is a lot to know over a long period of time, and I found writing an essay on a hundred and fifteen year period quite difficult - obviously you can't thus go into too much depth in any bit because you'd never finish it. Sociology AS is okay, I did Unit 1&2 familes and education, there is not a huge amount to know (compared with the A2) and because the questions often give a reasonable amount of choice I didnt find it so hard. Also for unit 3 we did coursework, which to be honest was reasonably easy, everyone who spent a reasonable amount of time on it did well - although those that didn't, did not fare so well!

That's nice of your school to do that, I don't think mine would've.

Did you get extra time that covered what you missed or just a little bit of extra time? Cos if you only got a bit then at least if you do fail (which you probably won't) then you'll know it wasn't entirely your fault, it was cos you had less time than other people
I missed my english exam as i thought that it was in the afternoon instead of in the morning:redface: a little bit embarrassing, felt like a such a blonde. I was lucky tho, they still let me do the exam!
In January i arrived at school for an exam and wondered why there were no other candidates there for it. As I have special arrangements I went over to the 'Board room' where I do my exams and asked the learning support woman where the paper was. She didn't have it so radioed the exams officer who came and informed me that the exam was in the afternoon. I almost did the same thing twice this time, but my dad told be before I left.
One of my friend arrived late for a computing module last week due to there been a massive power across half the city of wakefield and nobodies alarm going off. He had proof of the power cut and everything and told the exam board and they said it was not his fault and he could have done no more but would still get an X!
My mate was later for every single GCSE exam and every AS/A2 exam except for the further maths modules :s-smilie:

he also fell asleep in the gen studies econmoics paper and woke up with 10mins left.

in the culture paper he wrote a letter to the examiner telling him bout how his exams went lol

hes a character.

someone at my school forgot about their exam and was on the way to school (it was the first exam that the whole year took before study leave) and she broke her trousers, she then went into town on the way to school and cam ein an hour late! I think she still managed to take the exam though
In year 11, i was 45mins late for my French GCSE listening. The school held the exam for 30mins, but they had to start. I accidently got the wrong bus and then when i found my way to school eventually, i got caught in really bad traffic!! I had to join the reading and writing exam when everyone else did and do my listening once everyone was done!

When I did my GCSEs I almost missed one. I was asleep and my Dad came in to say good luck for the afternoon exam before he went to work. As soon as I woke up, I realised that I had a morning exam and burst into tears! :frown: Dad was great though- he took my sister to school, phoned work and said that he'd be late and then he came home to get me and take me to school. I got out of the car just as the others were going into the hall. Eek!
