Spots!

Now I've looked on here, and seen a few of the threads, but what can I do to get rid of them!!

I've changed my diet, no fast-food, crisps, chocolate - still there.

Changed cleansing regimes - soap/water, clearsil, clearsil ultra, some Nivea thing - still there.

I've tried scrubbing my face morning and night with a flannel to get rid of the dead skin and open up the dead pores - still there.

I've tried not touching my face as much as I've heard that this agrivates them - still there.

I've tried leaving those which are not going to go away until they are ready - still arrive though!

I'm an 18-year old guy who just wants to be spot free!! Help!!

Go to your doctor and get a medicated cream or antibiotics if they're that bad. xx

I was going to suggest going on the pill until i saw that you were a guy!! Sorry!!!

The doctors might be able to prescribe some antibiotics or something, its worth going to see them.

They come up worse around times of stress. They are not 'put a paper bag over you head for fear of dying of embarassment' awful; just darn annoying and knocking my confidence!

I went to a skin specialist and he gave me these meds called roaccutace. It will help spots go away but don't just buy it off Boots or something because they are prescribed depending on how bad your spots are

Also something called Leftose

Roaccutane is a powerful retinol which they're not going to prescribe you if you just have one or two spots. Before you can take it you will need to get your blood tested to make sure you're not hyperglycemic, and to check that your liver and kidneys are strong enough to support the treatment. It's not something to be taken lightly, and the treatment in itself lasts 4 months, during which time your skin will take on the appearance of having been rubbed with sandpaper.

I can only suggest going to the doctors and getting something from them.
I did when I was about 14 and it was amazing worked really well.

My doctor also told me recently that allergy tablets such a piriton can also help to combat spots if there is no obvious cause such as bad diet or stress.

Ive been taking boots allery relief tablets since monday and my skin is clearing up well

(He couldnt give me normal antibiotics because of the contraception I use)

My advice; go to your doctor and get referred to a Dermatologist (skin specialist) they'll give you some cream and in about 6 weeks they start to go

Hope it helps

Thanks Becki xxx:smile:

I wouldn't advise anyone to take this unless the situation is drastic- my sister was on this medication and got severely depressed. I'd recommend drinking a lot of water and Freederm.

Try tea tree oil! Because that can do the job get the pure esscense oil (10ml not the 20ml not strong enough and not on offer lol) from superdrugs on offer at superdrugs now I think £1.99. Just apply to the area day and night and it should go if not go onto freederm as someone said before.

Zineryt is quite good. You get it from the doctors and it really helps dry them up. I was offered the course of roaccutane also but turned it down when i heard the list of side effects

My skins been bad for about 6 years now and I've tried everything. I think it's just the sort of thing I'm going to have to live with for a few more years unfortunately :frown: . But oh well I'm used to it now. If you do find something that totally works, give me a shout lol.

Good luck!

i'm sure zineryt is just watered down HCL i gave up on specific spot cream a while ago, i just figured let nature do its bit i obviously still use soap :p: what i find is that when you first change spot cream the spots crap themselves and hide but after a w hiel they get used to it and you have to change again, keep them on the edge of their seat, i also avoided antibiotic

yeah same here, bloody mess my face is. Almost gone and then it comes back again. The best thing to do is just damage control and keep doing what you gotta do. I just hate people who says we are dirty people because we got spots, tbh, we have better face regime than those lucky bastards.
