yes, you are about 2 and a half stones overweight

Almost certainly, check your bmi.

Google bmi calculator, put your height and weight into it and it'll give you your bmi and whether you are overweight or not.

Of course, this is meaningless if you are happy about yourself and have no problems with daily life.

why do short people always feel a need to compensate for their height?

BMI is complete and utter bull****. I weigh 14 stones and I may be overweight according to the BMI calculator but if you take that into consideration with my length (I am short) and the fact that I have very little body fat you could quickly conclude that BMI is a bad indicator of one's overweight or lack of it if you will. It does not take into account a lot of thinks but first at foremost in my opinion it disregards the fact that muscles are much heavier than fat. So I have come to understand at least.

BMI gives a rough indication the everyday folk. It doesn't work for those who work out regularly cos we all know we're going to be heavy through having a lot more muscle.

they dont, the same proportion of short males wanting big muscles is just the same as tall people wanting big muscles. and considering the average height in the UK is 5ft 9, 5ft 8 isnt really that short. also considering the average height for wome in the UK is 5ft 2!
