    Hi guys

I'm looking into starting a career in finance and hoping to start working towards my CIMA qualification. I've got a 2:1 languages degree from a UK Top 5 Uni but, other than one module in Management Accounting in 1st year I've got no accounting experience.

Most of the entry-level job listings I've seen have asked for 'part-qualified' accountants who are already on their way or have completed some of the exams. Does this mean I should be funding the first few exams myself until a company takes me on and provides study support? How does this work in practical terms?

Any info/advice appreciated. I've got a basic knowledge of double entry bookkeeping, bit of data analysis experience and intermediate Excel skills. What's my play?

    Cheers
