Missed out details on front of exam answer booklet.

The title says it all really! I was sitting two exams today, one followed by another. At the end of the first exam I went for a pee, and when I came back as I got half-way through writing my details on the front page of the answer book we were told to start - so I WAS going to finish filling it in at the end of the exam. I didn't. And now as far as I can remember I've missed off my first names and my signature. I'm not 100% about my surname either, but I know for sure I got down the candidate number and centre number. Just worried now something "bad" might happen - like my paper being returned. Do you think my college will check the paper before sending it off and fill the details in for me?

Should I ring college now? I've tried e-mailing my tutor but he's obviously gone home. Please put my mind at ease somewhat as the two exams were stressful enough!

Thanks.

Right. An update. Rang college who tried to put me in contact with ANY of my tutors and all had gone home! Dang. We were in the middle of a conversation about my problem and my phone went dead! So I just dashed to college (10 minute run) and went straight to reception to see if I could sort it out. As I was waiting in there some courier dude was collecting maths papers - that got me more worried that the Religious Studies papers might have also been taken away. I spoke to the receptionist who sympathised and tried to put me back into contact with the woman I was speaking to on the phone. A few people around her told me not to panic, as the candidate number SHOULD be enough (but that wouldn't explain why a signature is needed, I thought). Anyway, she told me the exam officials have left but the papers MAY not of been collected to be sent off. Shouldn't they have to be checked prior to dispatch anyway? So she's took my mobile number and will ring me after she's got in touch with the exam people tomorrow. My mind has been slightly eased. But no doubt I won't be able to think of anything else tonight! How stupid is the person marking my exam going to think I am when he gets hold of my booklet.

When i asked for my paper back in January. The examinier ticks the signature also canditate number and paper reference. I asked my teacher why they do this and he told me that, if its not ticked then they may refuse to mark the paper.
Hope this helps

i would inform the exam board as well.

I'm lucky as at my school they check if the details are properly filled in...............I think.

Kind of not the same, but my systems and control paper had an error on the front that said it was product design...

Why didn't you just fill the rest in whilst you thought of it?

I was told by a teacher that you get a mark for signing the paper, so (theoretically) it's impossible to get zero

As previously mentioned, I had intended to fill the rest in at the end as I was keen to get on with the exam. Silly I know, as it would of took hardly any time, but y'know, exam pressures and all that. In a rush at the end I completely forgot and didn't realise until I got home.

Final update! My my is a lot more at ease now. Got a call the following morning saying that they had checked all the papers and could not find anything missing on any of them. Could I have got this into my head through stress? I must of at some point then filled the rest in. I'm going to try and stop thinking about it now! Sorry to waste people's time, but I was in a panic for a day or two.

Part of me is STILL sure I did miss some bits out - BUT, they say they've checked and I'll just have to trust 'em on it. Got more exams to prep. for now, and I sure as hell will be filling in the front as SOON as I sit down!
