Next year me and my boyfriend both hope to go to a uni in Manchester. I'm enquiring to see just how difficult money is at uni and if it would even be a realistic thought of us renting our own flat and living together for the three years?any advice around this topic would be very helpful!

I live in the north but not Manchester and we found it saved us money living together, you can save quite a bit on food when it's shared. Although if you guys count as dependent students then money could be harder.

If you go a bit out from the city centre (i.e a bus/ ride into the city, then uni) you'll be able to get decent rent prices

Have a look at some surrounding areas

Just my two cents but (assuming you're typical student age) I would live in normal halls for at least a year to give you both the chance to make other friends and because people change at uni and you probably won't be able to get out of your rent contract if anything goes wrong.
