    Hi everyone,
I am very confused about the differences between 'realism and naturalism' in theatre. If someone could explain them, I would be very grateful.

    Thanks,

    Alice.

    Thanks,

From what I've learnt, the main difference between the two styles is that naturalism is an extreme form of realism, in such a way that the characters are exaggerated, but not in a Brechtian way. Naturalism came after realism, and is built on this. Confusing.

    Have a look at this - http://www.thedramateacher.com/reali...e-conventions/
