    Durham vs Warwick for physics??
In the UK rankings Durham ranks 5th while Warwick ranks 8th.
However, I know that these rankings are not always the best indicator, anyone have any views on which is better for physics?

Ignore the rankings other than in a very general sense. If you look at the Guardian's league tables, Hertfordshire is ahead of Imperial, Warwick and Durham. Noone in their right mind should believe that. Also, unis move up and down all the league tables quite a lot between years - three places between two unis means nothing.

Go with the one where you feel you will be happiest studying - you are more likely to do well there. Durham is a small city and may become dull and is reputed to have more Oxbridge/public school types. Warwick is basically surrounded by car parks in the middle of nowhere - Coventry and Leamington are nothing to write home about socially. Both are extremely good unis but you need to decide where you think you will fit in best.

Local rankings are a joke, just ignore them. The international rankings are much more accurate http://www.topuniversities.com/unive...=false+search=

The international rankings are also duff. Durham has a broader course than Warwick but Warwick's is still good. Employability-wise they'll be about the same.
