I want to do mechanical engineering at Uni, and I've been looking at ideas for an EPQ. Whilst doing some reading, the concept of a turbofan jet engine really interested me.
I've now decided that I will either:
-Compare jet engines to an internal combustion engine, and evaluate which would be more feasible to use in future vehicles
-Attempt to build a miniature jet engine (possibly a working model, where the fluid isn't lit)
Which of these would be the best for an EPQ? I was leaning towards the build as it is practical and a bit further away from textbook teaching, but is it too difficult to do?
How hard would it be to build a mini jet engine for an EPQ? watch

It would be damn stupid to do it whilst you're taking your A-levels. Do it as a hobby so you're not held accountable for it and there's no set hand in date.
