Boys tend to just mess me around :(

Sorry, just going to rant/feel sorry for myself lol, but i have THE worst luck with men ever! Im considered attractive and get a lot of attention when we go out, but there is nothing i want more than to be in a relationship with someone. Ive never had a boyfriend, at school i was overweight, had low self-esteem and was generally unpopular. But now im at uni i have periods where i will just pull so many friends of friends, and i really worry people will have a low opinion of me....

I was seeing this one guy but he told me he wanted to cool it during exams, however exams have been and gone and he has ignored texts and msn messages. Its really confusing though, i mean he did all the chasing, like noticed me before i even knew he existed and even strategicaly planned to be in the pub the same time as me so he could get my number...but now he doesnt want to know. Its really upset me because i lost my virginity to him - and all my friends say i fell for an act.

So ive went out recently and spoke to a really good looking boy i pulled ages ago, and he kept saying to me how i "ticked all the boxes (he) looked for in a girl" and that he was really upset when i didnt text him back (even though i did) and he asked me to text him the next day to show him i was interested...well i did (was that a stupid thing to do?) and he has ignored me...im so confused! why do boys play so many games?!

The whole situation is really getting me down, and im worried that my awful luck with the opposite sex is going to make me start to crave attention in any form and keep pulling people - i dont want to but i seem to have a warped frame of mind now when it comes to boys, that when i pull them they will be interested, though i have yet to have had a pull progress into anything...so why am i being stupid and kissing people whilst drunk? Do you think i sound like a slag? i really dont want a reputation - university is making me into someone i really dont like.....

So after all that lol - i was just wondering, is there anything i could do to get boys interested in me for my personality and why do boys say one thing one day and completely change face practically overnight?!

Well alcohol usually makes people change a bit once its worn off they will be normal again.. just a thought.... also guys tend to be different in groups to alone

you want to have more luck with ONE guy then dont throw yourself at many not being harsh or anything just... take it easy and see how it goes the guys who are interested in you may see you as a fun loving girl who deffo does not wanna settle down..

just a thought

Boys will be boys, but a man is hard to find.

Good luck with that....university isn't th best place tbh....try somewhere with a 'lower class' of people: less pretentious and more integrity in general.

Sarah's at uni, and she isn't pretentious. Unless dying one's hair can be construed as such.

I'm not at uni, on the other hand, and arguably more pretentious than anybody here; indeed, some would likely argue that very fact as to why I might be inclined to 'over-compensate'.

What a preposterous notion you posit.

What utter tosh, at uni there's a terriffic diversity of people if you make the effort to go and meet them. Id say integrity certainly isnt lacking either.

Oh obviously not everyone; I'm not pretentious at all and I'm at uni.

But in comparision to the rest of the population....definitely.
