so angry fpc

hi there i called my family planning clinic today to ask to make an appointment to get my implant removed , the women on the phone was so rude to me and yelled at me,

i have had nothing but problems since i started the implant and ive had it about 6-7 months i went in and they gave me a pill to stop the bleeding and the lady that day said i could just call and arrange an appointment if i decided i wanted to have it out, so thats what i was doing and the lady said to me on the phone "you havent given it very long to settle" i then explained all the problems id been having with it etc and stuff and she said " the nurse might not want to take it out that soon, and stuff and anytime ive had to get an appointment there its normally like within the next week and the lady yelled at me sayin well i dont have anythin for you till the end of the month.
and i knew with the tone and attitude that she just didnt care.

just wanted to share my anger and see what everyone else thought.
p.s sorry for my rant

I'd phone up again and try and speak to someone else. I'd probably complain about that woman, too. =/

thanks yea i think i will because im so angry - i had those tablets to stabilize my bleeding and they were finished today and they havent given me an appointment for another week and four days which means im probs going to have to put up with bleeding for all that time and i already bled for the first 3 months constant im so sick fed up of it and its my right to have it out couldnt belive the women.

How far are you from the clinic? Could you go and speak to them in person to get the appointment? That way they're less likely to shout at you, and if needed can complain in person.

Reply 5

im not far but work full time and it is closed when im not working but i wish to complain do you think a letter would be ok?

Reply 6

Yes absolutely, a letter would work just as well. She shouldn't have spoken to you like that and I can't believe what they're telling you either. Aren't you supposed to wait 3-6 months to see if it settles down before you get it removed? You've now had it for 7 months, I can't see why they're making a fuss (unless they don't have a doctor qualified to take it out or something).

well when i went in for a meeting because of all the bleeding the doctor said to me that i could call anytime to make an appointment to get it removed etc if i didnt like the tablets or the sideeffects were gettin worse etc. so thats wot i tried to do i am still so angry about how she talked to me, in a place like that you would think they would be trained to be much more polite and sympathetic or sumthing.

Reply 8

Yeah. Were you rude to her, to provoke her or what? And who were you talking to? Isn't it normally just receptionists who answer the phone and book your appointments?

Reply 9

no i wasnt rude at all thats why it annoyed me even more and yea it was just the receptionist i was talking to .

Reply 10

Sending a letter might take too long. Email or phone maybe. If it's hurting, call up and make an appointment, even if you have to say its for something else to get the appointment. The pain isn't worth waiting.

Reply 11

^ ditto. and once you're in, complain your ass off.

covet or what? james bond you may be yet

Reply 12

don't these people ever know that the customer is always right? and in this case, the bleeding patient BETTER BE RIGHT!!! boot her ass out!

Reply 13

lol, once i think the other person at the end of the line didnt understand the situation and put the phone down instead of talking to me properly

Complain about her! She's a bitch and has no right to talk to you like that! Especially as she's not a nurse or a doctor! Also you have to have an appointment as soon as possible as it sounds very serious!

Me and my mum has a similar experience with someone who worked at reception at a hospital. I got this phone call from a random person who kept insisting I had an answering machine. We don't. She did it with my mum too instead of booking another appointment and apologising to my mum for not sending a letter notificationing her of an important appointment which caused my mum to miss it. The weirdo kept insisting she left a message on an answering machine although we don't have one and she was saying we do have one and didn't know it. My mum complained about her and the hospital phoned up to apologise. They get a job working at a hospital reception and suddenly think they're think they're above everyone.

yea thanks il defnitly be phoning to complain then ,the only problem is u need to say what its for so that they book you in with the qualified nurse because there is only one or two that do the implants.

keep on being persistent, i'm really surprised that a receptionist started trying to give you her medical opinion. If she still causes problems for you then you could tell her you're going to complain about her so she might start being a bit more professional.
