Here's some of my favourite songs:
Muse - in your world, the small print, easily, endlessly, space dementia, do we need this, muscle museum, thoughts of a dying atheist
Radiohead - creep, jigsaw falling into place
Placebo - hold on to me, song to say goodbye

The only artist I can think of who really made upbeat but depressing songs is Morrissey.



If that's not depressing, I don't know what is.

Radiohead - High & Dry
Placebo - A friend in need

Depressing(order of most depressing)
Placebo - Something Rotten
Nirvana - You know your right
Live - Lightning crashes
Johnny cash - Hurt(nine inch nails cover)

Basically anything by the Smiths or Morrissey.
Morrissey my personal favourite is "Suedehead"

Why do people always call Pure Morning "A friend in need"? It's not even in the chorus :rofl:
