Im curious and kinda need to know if its worth my money to join the university gym. Is it good enough for a bodybuilder as in dumbbells up to 50 kg as well as squat rack, bench press and basically enough free weights to throw around

I dumbbell press 40 kg for 8 reps, 3 sets and am just moving up to 45s. By the time im at uni i should be on 50s as i am bulking through summer. Just a gym is no good if it doesnt have good weights to progress to.

    Hiya

I have no idea if the uni gym is any good for what you need as I've never used it but just thought you'd like to know that there are a number of external gyms close by that might be of interest to you. There's one in town (10 mins away) called jubilee 2 and pretty sure there's an exercise 4 less as well. My friend goes to one in Tunstall that is apparently very good but I forgot it's name...

Perhaps it'd be good for you to shop around when you get here and compare prices and equipment to get the best deal.

    Sorry I couldn't help more
