Can I use Amazon subscribe as direct debit for bank? Watch

I got a Santander 123 current account recently, which requires two direct debits. I was wondering whether setting up an Amazon subscribe order would count as a direct debit?

To my knowledge Amazon should automatically debit my account every month and send my order to me every month (although I changed it to 6 months because I like to buy in bulk)

No because Amazon doesn't use a direct debit to charge you. They use something called a Continuous Payment Authority which looks like a DD but isn't.

But something like a phone contract, or spotify can be set up on a DD.

You could also set up a monthly £1 donation to a charity.
