My manager at work sent me a message on Wednesday saying "i was expecting you at 8am" and "call me" but i did not see the message until 2:30 during that day which was too late to respond as my shift was over.

I did not go work because i had coursework to do and did not even think about texting her before hand to say that i was not coming.

Anyway, i don't know what to say to her/tex her, the whole situation for me just feels a bit akward.

    What can i say?

Well you could just tell her the truth. I don't see what harm the truth would do here

If you didn't know you were in that day then just tell her the truth, if you knew beforehand you had to be in then I would be wondering why you didn't mention to her before you were due on that shift.

You didn't go to your job because you had to do coursework? That's incredibly irresponsible and immature. If you can't handle having a job and schoolwork then don't have a job. It's out of order to make others suffer because of your disorganisation.
