Hole in tooth *eek*

I really feel like a walking health hazard this Friday (see my painful stretch marks thread  ).
This morning I discovered a hole in one of my teeth, which I guess I should really get seen to. However, because NHS services in this area are crap, the earliest I can get an appointment is 8.30 on Monday morning. This is all well and good, and I will go, but what do people recommend I do until then? I'm not in pain (yet) but I am kind of chewing food and drinking liquids on the other side of my mouth as I don't want food and drink to touch the hole in case it makes it worse. Obviously I will carry on cleaning my teeth as this can't possibly make things any worse :p:
How can I protect the hole in my tooth until Monday so that absolutely minimal further damage is caused? Rep for help

I think what you are doing sounds fine..there's really not much more you could do, unless you gave up eating..
I'm sure a few more days won't make too much of a difference anyway.

Can't you go to the dentist as an 'emergency' patient?

Nope, none of the dentists around here are accepting emergency patients (bloody NHS! It's madness!). The absolute earliest I could get something was Monday morning, meaning I have to put up with this all weekend :frown: The feeling when my tongue touches the afflicted tooth is just horrible :frown:

A few days eating on the tooth will be fine, a few days isn't going to result in much further damage.
