I've been using Visual Studio for a while, and I notice that a .NET WebBrowser control can connect to any web page except https://console.cloud.google.com, https://appspot.com and similar websites (such as https://[project-name].appspot.com). In particular when I log on with my Google account to the first website I am greeted with this screen:
Clicking "click here" leads me to a completely blank screen. Anyone encountered this problem before? I can't seem to find a solution.

Yeah the .NET WebBrowser control sucks, mainly because it's actually running as Internet Explorer. Use https://awesomium.codeplex.com/, apparently it's much better.

I also recommend GeckoFX although its a little more tricky to configure, its updated quite frequently
If you use Visual Studio's NuGet package manager you can just do
in the Package Manager command line.
