Anything from the core modules can come up - specifically they try to ask questions that combine theory from different areas of the syllabus.

3c on that paper is a notorious question. Everyone hates it.

The mark scheme is on that same site.

teachercol, do you know where I may be able to find Jan & June 2006/Jan 2007 papers for Unifying Concepts? I've found them for all the other modules I'm taking but not for this one, unfortunately it's this one that scares me the most!
Reply 4
No - OCR dont publish them. I only have 2002-4 in electronic form.

Its everyone's scariest module - and almost impossible to teach!
Reply 5
Personally I think Forces, Fields and Energy is the scariest one - but maybe that's because I got a bit of a shock in January...

If you want some more papers, look here http://groups.yahoo.com/group/penguinpost/ (but you do need a yahoo account)

Unifying Concepts

Jan 06 doesn't work. Anyone got 06/07 papers?!
OCR physics is solid in comparision to AQA, their exam papers have half the marks dedicated to multiple choice questions (which are easy btw)! LOADS of people are retaking forces fields and energy because about 3 in 15 of us got an E or above lol!
i though ffe was easy, i got 78 in January

Calls corbinator44 a rude word :p:

But yeah, UC sucks and so does FFE which means its great news they're both on the same day at the same time

a word of advice, using the revision guide works well for AS but it ****s you over at A2. I used it for ffe in jan and managed 64/90...did the paper again a week ago and got what would have translated to full ums (with 76/90 being all that was needed for 90/90), only difference is i used the textbook instead of the revision guide when 'preparing'.
unifying concepts is solid though, theres 3 of us on an a at the moment in our group and 2 of us find it ridiculus
Reply 16
keep in mind that for unifying concepts, it's normally low 40's for an A - i think most people are quite close to this.

76/90 being all that was needed for 90/90

what!?!

your total grade is based on the percentage of full marks your cwk mark + exam mark were

76 is an A but not full marks
Reply 18
dunno what you're on about but in ffe jan 07, the boundary was 62/90 for an A and 76/90 for 100% UMS. where coursework comes into it i have no idea...

stupid paper they moved the mark bands around?

0.8 x 90 = 72

which i thought was a A

and 100 percent = 100 percent UMS?
