I gotta get a nice suit for prom. im looking at suits from harrods because im quite into branded things (my biggest vice).

the sizes are like 43R or whatever online. this doesnt mean made to measure im sure, seeing as they wont be able to measure me from online. i suppose the smartest thing would be to go in store right?

and any suggestions for nice suits? doesnt necesarrily have to be designer, as long as well fitted.

You're much better off buying a suit in person than online if you can, as they all fit slightly differently and you're unlikely to find a perfect one without trying a few on. Debenhams have good quality suits, as do most department stores. Slaters is probably the best place on the high street if you want a more personalised service, as someone will find out exactly what you want and be able to suggest styles and fitting advice. Slaters also often have different rooms or sections according to price, and have a designer bit with Ralph Lauren, Hugo Boss etc. if you fancy a designer one.

My brother has recently bought his suit from Slaters and it is a lovely navy coloured one that he is having tailored at the moment.

As said above, Ralph Lauren and Hugo Boss have some really nice suits, as that is where my brother is getting his shirt & tie from.

hope this helps and have fun at prom !
