Holiday during exam results

My mum has booked holidays from 1-25th august. Now I am hearing results day is 16th?. I have already said that I don't want to hear them over the phone by the head of 6th form. I don't think I can get a great internet connection too. Any advice?

Also I dont want any one reading them cos I find it hard enough to cope if i have done bad never mind someone else telling me. Also I am looking at uni so its another thing.

You can write to your school and ask them to give your results to another family member/friend who could then give them to you over the phone?

Ah just realised I'm in the same situation. I won't get a great connection either and I don't want anyone reading them!
Mmm try to have them posted?
If you don't want them read and you won't be able to get them emailed, the only option is to get them posted, but that could take a few days, especially if you're going abroad, and if you have uni offers depending on your results, you really need to know what you got ASAP so you can sort out Clearing if you need to. You'll also have other stuff to do like sending back the AS12 slip from UCAS to confirm your place and filling in forms for module choices, student card, health etc etc from your uni.

What is the time limit for filling out the confirmation slip?

31st August I do believe. No offence but how did you not know from ages ages ago that results were gonna come out then, did you not notice last year when you got your AS results that A2 came out the same day...

I was abroad last year when AS results came out..but I'm used to getting them over the phone, so it really wasn't a big deal.

If you've applied to uni's, you could also phone up one of your firm/insurance choices, because they'll know your results.

But like someone's already said, you need to get back into the country pretty soon after so you can send of the slip to UCAS etc.
uni's aren't allowed to tell you your results, or even if your in or not until you've got your results from your exam centre.

Ask them to be faxed to the hotel?

I am in a tangle, do I stay home because what if I miss my offer and need to beg?. I also don't like finding results out by someone else. grr this is so annoying.

it looks like you might have to find out your results via someone else, and they'll probably find out your resutls anyway be it school, family or friends.

school already see your results before they give them to you so you may aswell just let them ring you or post them out or fax them.

if you don't mind the cost and if it works, if you've got a decent internet mobile you can access track on your phone, or wherever your holidaying if you can get to an internetted computed you can go and track and hopefully they will have updated it so you can see if you got in or not but you wont know your grades.

Well its pretty dum to book a holiday then. So either you get someone to phone you and tell you or you dont go on holiday.
Reply 14
Can't you come back from holiday on the 15th or something if you're so strongly against gettin results via telephone
I know someone that did that

I don't think you'll miss it if you're back on the 25th, but good places get taken up quickly, so you'll have less choice. And as for the slip, some unis don't do it at all, but for those that do, I think it's the 31st. Could you not write a letter authorising a relative or friend to pick up your results and get them to phone you? I know you said you don't like finding out your results from someone else, but I think you're going to have to because if you've missed your offer and you can't check Track to find out if you're in or not, you'll need to firstly phone the unis to check and secondly sort out Clearing if they say no.

Okay, my mum really wants to book a holiday for the 6th august to the 21st or so, I was wondering will every uni require the confirmation letter to be sent via post or is it possible to do this via the internet as I am sure that there will be an internet source available for me during the holiday. 10 days also (between 21st and 31st) is enough isn't it, to ensure that the confirmation letter will arrive at the uni on time.

Hello, what do you mean by good places get taken up?? I thought that by receiving an offer from the uni that your place IS reserved if you achieve the required grades and so whether you're first or last to reply with the qualifying grades then you should get a place.
