How to plot standard deviation on a graph, when the values of SD are given?

The exams are close! Please help. How to use the values of SD and plot them in a graph? Is the method same for both line-graph and bar graph?
before you plot the graph, you first find the outliers of the value
if your value is 5.63 and your standard deviation is 0.09. you add and subtract 5.63 to your answer. thereby, you get 5.72 and 5.54 as the outliers respectively. on the graph you mark the outliers with a tiny horizontal dash and you connect it to your main paint (5.63) with a vertical line.
