At National 5 I got pretty mixed grades, with some good and some terrible. I got:
    English - A
    Computing - A
    Drama - A
    Business - B
    French - C
    Chemistry - C
    Physics - D
    Maths - D

This year I'm taking Drama, Business, English, Computing, and Chemistry, all at Higher, and expect to get a B in Drama and an A in everything else. Next year I'm taking Higher Music, Higher Psychology, Advanced Higher Computing, and I'm retaking Nat 5 Maths.
If everything goes as I hope, would I be able to get a conditional offer to a uni like Edinburgh?
Your highers are the most important thing universities look at. If you get your predicted grades then you have quite a good chance of getting into a good university. National 5 Maths is essential though and most specify it in the entry requirements. Most Scottish universities ask for AABB.

Psychology is extremely competitive. I'm predicted AAAB this year and got rejected from the two universities I wanted to go to due to competition and 3 conditional offers. I'm planning on taking a gap year and reapplying or going through adjustment because I got BBBC last year which made my application weaker compared to other applicants.
