Weird Skin Problem

This is a really bizarre problem I've only just noticed...I have a small patch of skin on the side of my face that repels make-up!!!
It's probably a bit smoother than the rest of my skin...it doesn't have the very very fine hairs that seem to cover the rest of my face and is just really odd. It literally will not 'take' make up...the best way to describe it is that it is like when you try to paint over something you've drawn in wax crayon...it means I always have a noticeable patch that is a diff colour to the rest of my make-up covered face.
Any idea what this is and how I could make it 'normal' again? I'm scared the rest of my face will go like this and I won't be able to wear make-up at all which would be terrible becuse of my extensive acne scarring and my general paleness!
any ideas?

WOW, someone who need make up to survive.

Depends what kind of makeup. If your makeup is near the same shade as your skin you could try 'fading' it around that area and making it symmetrical. Or just live without makeup. No idea what it is, though, sorry - were you ever burnt or anything?

nope, altho I do have a small, flat mole there which isn't very noticable but defo there. I know it's over the top but maybe it's a sign of skin cancer? I haven't really got very burnt in a long time though....about 12 years in fact! Hmm maybe I'll see my doc about it sometime soon as I was planning to go anyway.

I know it's exteme to place such a value on make-up but I think that unless you're scarred yourself then you have no idea how hard it is to even look at yourself without any on. It could be a lot worse but i've honestly had people come up to me in the street a comment on the fact that my skin is bad, so it kinda makes it hard to not pile on the make-up!!!
