UCL Freshers' Week

It's much more of an issue if you don't get to meet the people in your hall early on because tight social circles form pretty fast. Which is fine if you bond with the lawyers actually and very many do. They have a great time and there's nothing wrong with that :smile:

But their freshers package strikes me as so complete and full that it does sort of leave you facing a slightly awkward and early choice you aren't so obviously aware of.

I know and someone said that last year the law freshers started on the Sunday so that I really hope we get the chance to meet most of our hallmates. But one good thing is that the freshers week appears to be structured and that's good in the sense that I wouldn't feel like I'm completely clueless as to what is going on.

Eek, that does kinda leave one with a tough choice. I'd imagine it's very important to get on with your hall buddies..

It's a bit early for that yet isn't it? I'd imagine they start sending them out after everyone's got their results in August sometime (such a long time to wait- I want to start planning now!) Also what were the SSEES and French events last year? If anyone knows... Are freshers events open to all of the university or are they exclusively for freshers?

It's only really freshers who go to most of the freshers events. UCLU freshers events, you get some more people from the years above.

I don't know everything that happened with SSEES and French. I think with SSEES, they went out to Riga because there was a crop of cheapo tickets and they took the opportunity. I wouldn't say SSEES student activity was well funded as such.

French, I'm really not sure of, and it's more French speakers on top of French learners and it was more stuff done through the year.

I got my pack last year after the results in mid august.. it includes the event information, accomodation stuff and how to get tickets...
