It says it can only transfer photos via iCloud, and I don't use this service. Now my new phone has no photos on it.

    Any way around this?

    Use iCloud?

Alternatively try a program called AnyTrans.

If your iTunes is already/still registered to another device then this may be a cause of your problem as iTunes only allows one device to be synched to it to transfer music, photos etc.
Alternatively, you can transfer photos simply by using Windows Explorer. Have you tried this?
Or are you a Mac monster?
