Sorry quick rant.

I know this is bad but why is it ok for someone to call a skinny tall guy lanky and when he calls them fat they go home, cry, commit suicide or whatever and he gets blamed?

friggin unfair.

I don't enjoy being called lanky at all (6'4 and 11 stone). So when some girl called me it on msn today I called her fat (shes really big) and she went crying to her friend who said that was really mean.

All I said was "fatty".

Do you think thats fair? Since I find it hard to gain weight and she finds it hard to lose it...yet I get blamed. Just wanted peoples opions...dont flame me..im usually nice...:frown:

IMO, tall skinny guys= HOT! Unless she meant 'lanky' in a nice way (I describe guys as 'lanky' sometimes, in a good way) then she deserved your retort. Plus, most people who have a skinny frame can't help it. Most overweight people can.

She needs to get over herself and just accept that when you say something there are consequences. Don't feel bad about it. Next time though, don't fall down to someone else's level.

she called me "lanky tall guy who cant fit into his clothes".

and i am really skinny...i get a lanky comment everyday.

I bet fat people dont get a fatty comment everyday.

so unfair.

this is because all women are emotional quivering wrecks and cant handle even a modicum of critisism!!!!

Hypocritical cow. Serves her right.

It's the same old thing about like you insult someone everything's fine they insult you back you can't take it.
If she's fat that's her choice, she can go on a diet.
You can't shrink you were born with your genes and that made you tall.
Noone bring up the fat gene or whatever, even IF you do have it it just means you need to work harder to keep healthy.
May seem harsh but it's true.

Wow I completely agree with that. It is unfair, and seeing as she insulted you first - she should realise that it could affect your feelings! Gee, I wouldn't feel guilty, she doesn't seem a nice person ..

Reply 9

I think you were more than justified in calling her a fatty

Yes it is unfair, and she did deserve it, though being skinny in today's society is rarely seen as being as undesirable as being fat, so I can see why she took it to heart. I would have done exactly the same, only I'm 5'6" and the such.

ah...hah...

hah..

trust me...im wayyy too skinny. stick legs + stick arms = not a good site in the summer.

some muscle is needed.

But yeah...im surprised nobodies said anything about the difference between girls and boys...apparently your not allowed to comment on a womans weight but you are allowed to comment a man's weight.

Good on you. I cant stand people that cannot take reality. I have the same problem as you. Im skinny and find it hard to gain weight.

People realy have to see their real self... She can lose that weight... But she doesnt like to see it...

You did totally the right thing!! Congrats on speaking your mind... lots of people in todays society dont

Mike.

Harsh and a false Generalization !!!!

I think it was a JOKE

Reply 15

haha. I like your reply. I think that if you're going to be nasty (like she was) then she deserved to be told the truth.
If somethings harsh you don't say it - so she shouldn't have said it. I'm not usually a fan of retalliation but I think it was very justified. I'm curvy. Not fat. And I am short. I know that. But I do rather like tall thin guys, so be proud

Hey, not all women, but most women, i'm a woman and i agree with you. If she can't take it she shouldn't dish it

Reply 17

LOL fatty good one~

Reply 18

You were justified in calling her a name back, although it wasn't nice, but she shouldn't have reacted like that. Sounds like a bit of a bully to me, silly girl.

I would also like to add my voice to the skinny=hot. Because it is.

Everyone knows the golden rule is to never comment on a girls weight.
Personally I dont see whats wrong with being called lanky.
But I see what you're saying. It seems to be ok to call someone lanky, but isnt ok to call someone fat...its just the way things are. Like obese people get told they are fat and lazy, yet anorexics get all the pity....
