What happens if we exceed our word limit on language B paper 2 exam?

So I won't mention anything about the question as it's against the IB protocol.

Long story short, I'm doing Eng B SL at the moment and I did my paper 2 on word processor (Font 16 on title, 14 on subheading and 11 on main body) so in overall, it was only a page and a half when I printed them out.

When I checked the mark scheme from past papers, it states not to penalise for exceeding word limits but people are telling me otherwise.

Does anyone know what will happen?

You will not be penalised but usually the examiner reads to the word limit and nothing further than that.
Yes, the official statement is that the examiner will just stop reading. However, I dont know what ACTUALLY happens. I strongly doubt you will be punished if you go 1 or 2 words over the limit, but I wouldnt try it out.
